The Nook HD runs a heavily modified version of Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich. The Nook HD/HD+ line was originally planned to be discontinued, as announced in Barnes and Noble's 2013 Fiscal Year-End Report, due to financial losses. This Nook HD is way beyond my expectations. I was so disappointed with my first nook purchase, It did not work at all, then this Nook sold me on the 9 inch HD screen. I was content with the reader portion, then I started to explore some of the other features and Wow, I highly recommend this to all buyers.
